What is a pop up picnic?

A pop up picnic is a 2-hour-long (minimum) celebration of your liking. With cheese and meats, the drink of your choice, cozy blankets and pillows and aesthetic decor in whatever theme you like, the possibilities are endless. They can happen on the beach, in the park, by the river or even in your backyard. It’s up to you to decide how you want your special day to go. We’ll do all the heavy lifting.

What is the She Shed?

Pop Up Picnics by She Shed, commonly known as just “the She Shed,” feels like home. It is our home base of operations, located on Arnold Ave right in the middle of Point Pleasant Beach. Come in to grab a bite to eat (we have really delicious pizzas!) or rent it out for you next party.

Is The She Shed an eatery?

Short answer: Yes! We serve quick bites, charcuterie boards to share, sandwiches, house-made flatbread pizzas, smoothies and fresh juices. Come on in to our shop and order something delicious sometime!

Can I choose the decoration style and theme of my picnic?

Short answer: Yes! When you fill out an inquiry form, you will make note of the style and theme you would like to have at your picnic. This can range from anything as vague as “beach” to as specific as “neon yellow.” When we confirm with you, we will ask some more questions about your theme preference to make sure we get it just right. It is your special day, after all (:

What is included in the price of my pop up picnic?

The base price for a party of 4 includes set-up and breakdown by our wonderful staff, all decor, pillows, carpets, umbrellas, signage, cutlery, table settings and a delicious charcuterie board for the group. What kinds of upgrades are available? What is the cost of these upgrades?

Each person over 4 people, travel greater than 10 miles from Point Pleasant Beach, transportation to and from the event, flower arrangements, dessert board, specific food requests, pashmina scarves, Turkish towels, insulated cups / glasses, personalized cups / glasses, and more!

Where can I have a pop up picnic?

Anywhere! …Well for the most part. We can throw your picnic at the park, in your backyard, on the beach, or on the river’s edge. In our inquiry form, you can choose what location you would like or suggest one that we haven’t thought of. If it seems do-able, we will make it happen for you. Unsure about the location you want? That’s ok too! We can help you choose the perfect location for your special day.

What if it rains on the day I’m supposed to have a pop up picnic?

We hope that the weather won’t affect your day on the blankets. On the off chance that it does, we have some solutions! We have an event space in our shop that is quiet, private and the next best thing to a picnic outdoors. If the weather doesn’t cooperate and you would still like to carry on with your picnic, we will make it happen!

What is the payment process like?

You will pay a 50% deposit for your picnic that confirms your booking. You will be able to cancel your picnic one week (7 days) before the day that it is supposed to be. If you have to cancel less than 7 days out, we will not be able to offer a refund. We use the deposit to pay in advance for all the things that will make your day special. On the day of your picnic, the other 50% of the total cost will be due.
